And right there in the thick of it, operating out of the First Avenue Pavilion on the boardwalk, was Sandy's Arcade & Playland, run by his son, Henry Vaccaro Jr. Sandy's was a critical hub in the late 1980s and early 1990sa necessary distraction in a city fighting for its life. The biggest story here is what Sandy's inherited: after the legendary Palace
