the 1854 is scarce in lower grades but very tough in AU or Better grades

At some point this coin took some light surface damage on the reverse. Left unchecked this damage would likely have been more significant. The area shows as a more matte surface on about 1 3 of the reverse. Heck of a nice coin for the price.
